Whidbey Island, the longest island in the continental United States, extends 56 miles along Washington's protected waterways. It is a fun island to explore from tip-to-tip.
It lies just north of Seattle and is reached by car ferry via Mukilteo, or by traveling further up the cost via the stunning Skagit farmlands, and across breathtaking Deception Pass Bridge. Whatever your route, Whidbey Island rewards with a choice of wonderful lodgings, gourmet dining, unique art galleries and gift shops, antiques, wineries, wildlife, coastal villages and hamlets, historical sites and recreational adventures.
Several state parks offer beautiful beaches for travelers to explore, while many pristine hiking trails are found along the forested sections of Whidbey Island. Art enthusiasts find some of the finest northwest art throughout the island's little towns and hamlets. Restaurants are convivial with local produce and fresh fish prepared on par with the best in the northwest. The local flare is festive, and friendly. |
