Villa Marco Polo Inn is located in the elegant Rockland quarter, short blocks from both Craigdarroch Castle and Government House, the official residence of Her Majesty the Queen’s representative in the province of British Columbia. This classically designed Victoria bed and Breakfast inn has an Italianate garden evoking images of Tuscany and Umbria, four beautifully appointed suites, and a stunning third floor spa overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Peninsula. Built in 1923 as a gift to a young bride, the architecture reflects an Italian Renaissance style in its design. Today this unique property remains popular as one of the most romantic places for a honeymoon in Victoria BC, as well as a choice vacation and wedding location in Victoria BC. The bedrooms, the Silk Road Suite, the Zanzibar Suite, the Persia Suite and the Alexandria Suite, feature double soaker tubs and separate tiled showers, romantic fireplaces, desks, private telephones, iPod docks with pre-loaded iPods, wireless internet, fine linens, hardwood floors with Persian carpets, and comfortable beds.
Classic elegance defines this tastefully decorated inn. Fresh flowers fill the rooms, which are decorated with stylish antiques and fine art from proprietors Eliza Livingston’s, Clarke Bingham’s, and Liam Morton's family collections. Sumptuous gourmet breakfasts featuring locally grown produce are served in the formal paneled dining room overlooking the garden, or in the sun-drenched Italian ‘Orangerie. Vegan, gluten-free, or vegetarian meals are available upon request. In the afternoons, guests can enjoy tea and Amarone della Valpolicella either in the tranquil gardens or in front of the fire in the wood-paneled library of our exclusive Victoria bed and breakfast in BC, Canada. The inn is located minutes from downtown Victoria and the city's beautiful Inner Harbour. Managing Innkeeper Liam Morton will arrange fine dining experiences for guests, as well as activities such as whale watching, sailing, paddling, golf, and tours of local vineyards and the Gulf Islands. Spa services and esthetician services can be scheduled at our guest’s convenience in our on-site Penthouse Spa Hamaam. It is a short walk from this beautiful Rockland inn to historic Craigdarroch Castle and to the beautiful park-like gardens of Government House.

The Villa Marco Polo Inn's four guest suites offer the ultimate in comfort and luxury. Each room in our luxurious Victoria bed and breakfast is unique in design, yet all are elegant and supremely comfortable.
Fine European bed linens wrap you in silky smooth comfort, while down pillows cushion your dreams. (In the event of allergies, hypoallergenic bedding is available.) An iPod with dock allows you to enjoy an extensive collection of music.
Fold yourself into luxurious spa robes as you emerge from the tiled shower or the double soaker tub and re-enter your room.
Persian carpets, each telling symbolic stories of their origins, soften your step; paintings and photographs adorn the walls of our bed and breakfast guest rooms.
Adjustable bedside reading lights, as well as desks with reading lamps, provide for recreational reading as well as business. The second floor library invites you to spend some time in front of the wood-burning fire, enjoy some sherry, and perhaps some pistachio nuts. You might choose to play a game of Scrabble or chess, or cuddle up with a wonderful book. Or use the library iMac to check your email, download your photos, surf the net, or to begin recording your memories of your vacation at the Villa bed and breakfast!
Although the Villa’s public spaces are many and beautiful, each suite is its own little world, assuring privacy, intimacy, and comfort which gives our Victoria bed and breakfast the qualities which positions it above the other bed and breakfasts in the Vitoria area.
The Villa is an adult oriented property. Rates vary according to the season, and to the specific suite. All rates are for two people in a suite: a surcharge of $40 per night will be added for an extra person in a room. Please select the rates button to find out details, and don’t forget to check our specials and packages, which are continually being modified and updated. |

Every effort is made at the Villa Marco Polo Inn to serve food that is delicious, healthy, pleasing to the eye, and bountiful. We start with our sources, making sure that the ingredients that go into our creations are of the finest quality, locally grown here on the island, and organic whenever possible.
We get our eggs from an organic farm in Metchosin. Several farms on the Saanich Peninsula supply our fruits and vegetables, depending upon what we are needing, and whose crops are most promising.
We get our cheeses from Charelli’s Deli on Foul Bay Road in Victoria; the two women who own Charelli’s bring in specialty and artisan cheeses from all over the world, and encourage tasting so that we know what we are getting! Page and Luke, of Choux Choux Charcuterie make our sausages, using various herbs and spices with pork, lamb, turkey, or chicken. Page and Luke spent two years in France learning to make sausages and pates the traditional way, and today excel in offering these wonderful products to Victoria.
Although we bake all our breakfast breads and desserts here in the Villa kitchen, when we need a wedding cake, we use one of several fine local bakeries. We employ Victoria’s finest caterers for our weddings and other functions, and see to it that the food served meets our premium standards.
Breakfast starts with juice or a smoothie, and a plate or parfait glass of fresh fruit. Freshly baked muffins, such as ten-grain, pumpkin-pecan, or lemon lavender, are served with butter and preserves made from island fruits. A savory entrée follows, such as baked eggs Florentine, omelets soufflés, or eggs Benedict, either traditional or West Coast style, with avocados and smoked salmon. The sweet entrée that ends the meal might be ginger pear pancakes, pineapple upside down mini-cakes, ricotta-stuffed crepes with wild berry coulis, or hot lemon soufflés. |

Imagine arriving at the Villa’s Penthouse Spa Hamaam... Before coming upstairs, slip off your street clothes, and wrap yourself in our soft and enveloping Marco Polo spa robes; make a stop at the Samovar in the Tuscan room, and help yourself to some sublime Silk Road tea. Choices including Philosopher’s Brew, AngelWater, Casablanca, or Canton Orange shimmer like gold in the delicate Turkish tea glasses.
Once arriving at the Spa Hamaam, soothing music will greet you. If you are a bit early, you may decide to sit down in front of the fire and sip your tea while you wait for the appointed hour. Or on a warm day, take a seat on the roofed balcony, and watch the sailboats in the distance, marching across the Strait of Juan de Fuca against the backdrop of the Olympic Mountains in Washington State.
After your treatment, you might want to curl up on the window seat or, with your muscles relaxed and loose, you might want to practice some gentle yoga. Whatever your next move, your treatment will leave you energized, relaxed, and peaceful. |
