The Sooke HArbour House is nestled in the corner of scenic Sooke Harbour, overlooking the Olympic Mountains across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Luxury Accommodations, sensational oceanfront dining, art gallery, overflowing gardens and Spa.
Connecting with nature is an essential part of being alive. "The tonic of wildness," as Henry Thoreau called it, is crucial to our health and happiness. Enjoy our live beachfront entertainment; sunbathing seals, frolicking otters and visiting whales.
Our restaurant features the freshest of local seafood, meats and produce. Our menu changes on a daily basis to reflect our food philosophy. Our wine cellar, overseen by wine director Sinclair Philip, has been the recipient of the Wine Spectator Grand Award since 2000.
The gardens of Sooke Harbour House are, modestly put, an edible paradise. We grow naturally, organically and seasonally. The plants we have in the garden all have an edible part. It may be a leaf, a flower, a root, a tuber, a stem, the fruit or the bulb.
The garden is very attractive in all seasons, but more colourful in the Summer. Spring, Fall and Winter, all have their own charm and beauty. |

All of our rooms have been designed for year-round comfort and charm.
Every one of our hotel rooms features ocean views, a balcony or terrace, private bath, wet bar and comfortable sitting area in front of a wood-burning fireplace.
Each has its own unique decor with decorative touches by Frederique, original artwork, antiques and books enhancing the theme. In any season, our rooms offer a cozy and spirit-renewing refuge. Sip a glass of wine and gaze into the flames of your own wood-burning stone fireplace.
Enjoy the beauty of the distant Olympic Mountains from the privacy of your balcony, or fall asleep to the lull of the ocean’s waves. Each of our 28 luxury hotel rooms is a gentle adventure of its own. Designed to embrace you with beauty, warmth and comfort, each room is richly decorated with antiques, unique amenities such as hand-crafted ceramic basins, and original West Coast paintings and sculpture.
Luxury in-room amenities include: A unique collection of antiques and original art, private bath (some rooms have a jetted tub
or a soaker tub for two), bath robes and hairdryers, bottle of Port, clock radio and CD player, iron and ironing board, umbrella and rain wear, wireless internet connectivity, new far infrared saunas, located in the common areas on the bottom and top floors. |

Our Food Philosophy
From a cuisine standpoint, we have made a sometimes difficult, but usually rewarding, commitment to use only the best ingredients from the Southwestern Coast of
Vancouver Island.
To this end, through the years, we have developed a network of local organic growers that supply us with their wonderful meats and produce. The sea, of course, yields a rich variety of shellfish, fish and sea vegetables that underscore the seafood emphasis of our daily changing menus. Seasonal foragers reap wild greens and mushrooms from our relatively unspoiled wilderness to grace our plates. Many First Nations traditional foods, from uncommon fish to berries, local mushrooms and edible flowers are also part of our kitchen’s palette. |

Enhance your Massage, Body or Esthetic treatment with one of our Herbal Aromatherapy or Oceanic Blends.
Art Gallery
Welcome to Sooke Harbour House Gallery, home to the art of more than 150 local artists and craftspeople. Our unconventional art gallery encompasses most of the inn- from the art filled garden room, the meandering hallways, to sculptures nestled amongst our edible gardens. This region has fostered an incredible number of talented artists, and we exhibit exclusively the work of artists from Sooke, Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, Victoria, and the Lower Mainland. We carefully select work that reflects the ocean, surrounding rainforest, gardens and food, and that tie into the Sooke Harbour House philosophy of local, eclectic and sustainable. |
