Flightseeing: Talkeetna offers a range of flightseeing opportunities, including flights over Denali National Park and landings on the famous Ruth Glacier.
Jet Boat Tours: The rivers of Interior Alaska are gateways to the wilderness. Cruise the Sustina, Chulitna and Talkeetna Rivers with experienced Alaskans who will navigate these glacier fed rivers.
Dog Mushing: Learn about the sport of dog mushing from an Iditarod veteran. Then take a sled dog ride on the local trails. The kennel is full of past, current and future champions. Hold one of the puppies and feel the Iditarod spirit.
Rafting: Explore a swift, yet calming and serene, glacially-fed river by raft. See the ingenuity of a beaver's dam-building skills on this comfortable float trip.
Fishing: Try your hand at Alaska fly fishing or spin fishing on a guided fishing excursion. Or set out for a peaceful, solitary day of fishing at your leisure.
Geocaching: Bring your GPS device or rent one from the Lodge tour desk and search for geocaching treasures on our 640 acre site. Geocaching coordinates are available at the tour desk.
Self-Guided Walking Tours: Explore the area on foot, taking in the history and culture of downtown Talkeetna. Ask the tour desk for the "historic walking tour map" or a property map showing the walking trails at the Lodge.
And don't forget the shopping! Talkeetna is home to many local artists who have worked all winter long to share their talents with you through their bead work, hand-made quilts, photography, paintings and more.
