WildSpring Guest Habitat is a remarkable place to enjoy the spectacular south Oregon coast.
Private and secluded, WildSpring is a small, eco-friendly resort overlooking the ocean in Port Orford, 60 miles north of California. On five acres of old Native American grounds, it offers comfortable luxury in a naturally beautiful environment...and feels like you're visiting a private estate rather than a hotel.
Stay in warm, cozy and very elegant cabin suites filled with art and antiques, in a peaceful residential forest of 100 ft trees. Relax in the Guest Hall with floor-to-ceiling ocean views. Help yourself to hot chocolate (…or teas, coffee, juices, fruit, popcorn and chocolate…) at any time, get out a board game or work on an old-fashioned jigsaw puzzle.
Immerse yourself in their steamy open-air slate spa on a bluff overlooking the Pacific where you can whale watch during the day and see the Milky Way at night.
Enjoy an incabin massage, share the walking labyrinth with the family of deer that likes to hang out and nibble the clover, walk to the ocean and look for agates and driftwood or spend the day at local art galleries, hiking trails or historical sites.
Only a few years old, WildSpring is a Select Registry Inn, a birding site on the Oregon Coast Birding Trail and certified wild animal habitat by The Wildlife Federation.
Think of it as nature with four stars. |

This is where WildSpring will surprise you...you won't believe how comfortable and beautiful our cabins suites are.
The five cabin suites are built like small homes, with radiant heating, vaulted ceilings, and separate sleeping and living areas divided by pocket doors.
Nestled among a private residential forest of 100-ft trees, they are from 50 to 100 ft apart, and all face away from each other, with greenery and artistic fence sections placed to ensure privacy.
They're filled with artwork, plush, overstuffed loveseats, antique and vintage furniture. Add pillow-top, top-of-the-line queen Simmons beds, down comforters, vintage quilts, luxury towels, spa robes and lush chenille throws.
Each cabin suite has a refrigerator (stocked with complimentary bottled water daily), massage table, TV/VCR (movies only - with a great library of tapes in the Guest Hall) and high-end CD player. You can even choose an easy-to-set alarm clock, or set the CD player to wake to music in the morning.
You'll also find a special WildSpring CD, wine glasses and cork screw, hiking guide, candles and lighter, hair dryer, Italian steam iron, sewing kit and personal reading lights. We can even bring you a toothbrush, toothpaste and shaving gear if you'd like. The large cabin, Annwyn, has a lovely old Vermont Castings woodburning stove, is already set up to light, and we provide all your wood and starters at no additional charge.
The bathrooms are works of art, accessible from either the bedroom or livingroom. Enjoy the oversized walk-in slate showers with brushed nickel fixtures, convenient walnut shelves for your personal items, and completely natural, aromatherapy soaps and shampoos in biodegradable containers.
There are no phones, broadcast TV or cooking facilities in the cabins, but there is a high-speed WiFi network for your laptop. If you do not have an airport card, contact the office to borrow a special ethernet airport station.
Contact Destination Northwest for detailed description of each of the five exquisite guest cabins.

Part of the pleasure of leaving your daily life behind must be allowing yourself at least a few indulgences.
CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST
Each morning, enjoy a fresh and healthy extended continental breakfast buffet in the Guest Hall. Sit on the deck overlooking the ocean where whale-watching is possible all year long. Help yourself to freshly prepared fruit salad, a wide selection of breads, specially prepared granola, Sarabeth jams and Silver Palate steel-cut oatmeal…the best oatmeal you'll ever have. We also offer a delicious blend of Batdorf & Bronson coffees, who roast and produce their remarkable coffees using 100% renewable energy.
Each day, we will ask you what you prefer for the following morning on our breakfast checklist. Check everything that sounds good to you and we'll have it in the buffet.
HELP YOURSELF
Enjoy refreshments in the Guest Hall kitchen at any time...compliments of WildSpring. Use the convenient insta-hot faucet to make yourself a cup of tea from the wide selection of black, green and herbal teas. Or use the easy single-cup drip Melitta cones for coffee or cocoa - with marshmallows, of course. To Go cups are there, too. Enjoy cold juices in the refrigerator or help yourself to fresh fruit. Fix yourself some popcorn in the evening for your movie. And don't forget the dark chocolate kisses.
WINE
We offer a good selection of Oregon wines at below-retail prices. We can have a bottle ready for you in your cabin when you arrive. Or, just call us on the intercom and we'll bring a bottle to your cabin or have it ready for you in the Guest Hall. Wine glasses and corkscrew are in each cabin. Download a .pdf of our current selection.
LOCAL RESTAURANTS
There are good restaurants in Port Orford - within half a mile of us - and in Bandon & Gold Beach (half hour north and south) offering fresh seafood, steaks, authentic Italian, creative, fine cuisine, light and healthy, and arguably the best fish and chips and clam chowder on the coast. Check out our list of local restaurants and see what looks good. Most restaurants do not need reservations - the list notes which need them. |

You will love visiting this area. There is so much to see and do.
The southern Oregon coast is simply spectacular. Where the mountains and the forests meet the ocean. Where eight rivers flow through towering forests of Douglas fir, ponderosa pine, Port Orford cedar, and exotic myrtlewood into the sea. They pass through quiet, historic waterfront towns with picturesque working ports, vibrant arts communities, and more parks per mile than anywhere in the country.
Enjoy art galleries, gift shops and antique stores (where they still have "finds") in every town along the southern coast and on 101 south of Bandon.
You'll find everything from quiet beaches to busy casinos, great windsurfing spots, hiking trails and some of the best ocean and river fishing in the world.
Take a horseback ride on the beach or ride a jetboat up the Rogue for the time of your life. Explore vast wilderness areas, scenic working lighthouses and beaches covered in agates, feldspar and driftwood. Try crabbing and clamming, and don't miss some of America's best whale and bird watching sites.
Hire a guide, go with a group or take off on your own. You'll find everything you enjoy... the only thing we don't have here are the crowds.
Even the weather helps create the experience. From mid-May to mid-October, the weather is so predictable you can count on sunshine and 65 to 75 degrees with a comfortable ocean breeze almost all the time. During the winter, the weather is so unpredictable that one day you'll see hurricane force winds, giant crashing waves and horizontal rain... followed by blue skies and warm sunshine the next.
ONSITE ENJOYMENT
WildSpring offers special creative, recreational and spiritual activities and events for our guests.
Some are scheduled in advance and require reservations for special events or workshops. WildSpring Guest Habitat is in Port Orford on the southern Oregon coast, about 60 miles north of the California border. It's halfway between Bandon, home of the beautiful new Bandon Dunes golf center, and Gold Beach, where the sporty Rogue River meets the Pacific ocean.
From the south:
Take 101 north to Port Orford. (From the very far south: If you're coming from Southern California, take the 5 north, turn left at Redding on 299. Turn right at the ocean on 101 and head north. 160 miles to Port Orford.)
About five miles north of Humbug Mountain you'll see a bridge over Hubbard Creek. At the north side of the bridge, on the right, is a big green ODOT sign that says Cemetery Loop Rd, as well as the Welcome to Port Orford sign. Turn right on Cemetery Loop. About half a mile up on the left is WildSpring. The driveway is opposite Old Mill Road, the only street that intersects Cemetery Loop.
From the north:
There are a number of good routes between I-5 and Hwy 101. Probably the fastest is to take 126 west from Eugene. Turn left at Florence on 101 and head south.
Two hours south is Port Orford. After you've driven through town, you'll see Battle Rock park on the right with a spectacular view of the ocean. If you stopped at that point and looked left, you'll see Battle Rock Motel. To the right of that is Deady Street that goes up a long hill, and to the right of that there is a big green ODOT sign that says Cemetery Loop Rd.
At that point, Hwy 101 follows the coast and veers to the right, while the northern end of Cemetery Loop veers off to the left (you cannot see Cemetery Loop from 101 until you turn left... it's a leap of faith that it's there. See the photo above).
Northbound Hwy 101 traffic will be slowing down to the city's 30 mph speed limit, but please be very careful while you cross the oncoming lane. We are half a mile south on Cemetery Loop, and our driveway is on the right, the first right-turn opportunity, opposite where Old Mill Road intersects Cemetery Loop. |
