Rentals of one and two person kayaks are available, and in a matter of minutes you'll be gliding through the calm waters to explore the inlets, bays and islands of the area. There is no better way to observe wildlife and marine life than from the water. Guided tours and lessons from Halfmoon Sea Kayaks are available at Rockwater Secret Cove Resort to ensure your kayaking experience is safe and enjoyable.
Sailing - A Caledonia II" is a 47 foot Jeanneau sloop with sea- stories to tell. Join us and return home with some stories of your own. Built for comfort and speed, you can glide lazily among the coastal islands or race the wind for a thrilling sail. Full-day, half-day and evening charters available for up to 6 passengers. Suggested destinations include Smuggler’ s Cove, Buccaneer Bay, Thormanby Island, or a visit to the jewel of BC’s marine parks, Jedediah Island. Plan your own provisions and crew, or let us organize the trip and spoil you on board. Our culinary team will provide gourmet meals to enjoy on the "Caledonia II" including fresh organic entrees, B.C. VQA wines and assorted refreshments.
Naturalist Hikes - Which berries are safe to eat? What local plant was in a James Bond film? What did the Coast Salish people use for raincoats? Get answers to all the important questions. Enjoy a naturalist-led hike and learn about the flora and fauna of the forest and shoreline, stories of local Native history and European exploration. Visit the legendary Skookumchuck Rapids, or other beautiful trails in the area. Add on a gourmet picnic for a complete afternoon’s outing.
Treasure Hunting - Go treasure hunting the modern way! Look for prize boxes stashed at different coordinates along local trails, with a hand-held GPS to guide you. Perfect for groups to play in teams, or hunt on your own as a couple or family. Price includes use of hand-held GPS units, GPS tutorial, walkie-talkies and on-site guide. Biking - Young or old(er), expert or novice, the world famous trails of the Sunshine Coast offer something for everyone. Rent a bike and explore on your own, or let our experienced guide lead you right to the good stuff and show you some new tricks and tips.
Horseback riding - in Pender Harbour. Trail horses take riders of all levels to mountainous elevations of up to 1800 feet. From these heights, equestrians have an idyllic view of the ocean, the Caren Mountain range, Mount Daniel and Pender Harbour. Excursions last one to two hours at a walk, trot or canter.
Golf - The Sunshine Coast boasts three outstanding golf courses each only a short drive from Rockwater Secret Cove Resort. The oldest course is the 18 hole Sunshine Coast Golf & Country Club in Roberts Creek, beautifully carved from the coastal rainforest that enfolds the course on all sides. The 18 hole Sechelt Golf & Country Club is surrounded by views of the Sechelt Inlet and the mountains. And to the North, the Pender Harbour Golf Course is a challenging nine-hole course with beautiful coastal mountain vistas.
Thornmanby Islands - Directly across from Rockwater Secret Cove Resort lies North and South Thormanby Islands. South Thormanby has a wonderful stretch of beach while North Thormanby is the site of the Buccaneer Bay Marine Park and campsite. When the tide is low it is possible to walk between the two while exploring tidal pools and a variety of wonderfully colourful marine ife.Experience the beautiful sandy beaches of Thormanby by boarding our water shuttle departing daily from Rockwater Secret Cove Resort dock at 11:15 am and returning at 4:15 pm. Enjoy a day relaxing on the sandy beach or take a long walk along the miles of shoreline. |
